Race links leave the site. 2001 LA Triathlon - 9/9/01 Swim - I face-planted into the sand two seconds after this Bike - I think NASA got better quality photos back from the moon (ok, I know that was really a Hollywood sound stage, but then again so was this) Run - The end of my first race - don't I look pleased? 2001 Chicago Marathon - 10/13/01 Mile 23 - I just started running again before turning this corner Finish line - Marathon? Bike - Damn I don't look happy Bike - You're always in good spirits when you're at the finish Bike - By this time in the race, the photographers had few people to shoot Run - I believe I can safely say that the term "triathlon stud" will never be applied to me Run - Note to self: try to look a little MORE dorky crossing the line next year 2002 Skyline Ridge Half Marathon - 6/8/2002 Run - I beat my buddy Kathi...then again she took a wrong turn. 2002 Alcatraz Triathlon - 6/16/02 Swim - Guess I wasn't tasty enough for the sharks this time out Bike - I may look like I'm smiling... Bike - ...but I'm actually swearing Bike - One minute after changing my first race flat...it is at this point I realize I may not win the race... Bike - Of course the pros are all finishing their rides as I head out on the bike Bike - All done...well except for the 8 mile run... Run - You can tell when I haven't been working hard enough...I have time to cheese it up for the camera Run - The obligatory Golden Gate Bridge shot Run - The day is finally over... Run - I really need to keep running two steps after the finish so I don't look so lazy. 2002 Palo Alto JCC Tri #2 - 7/21/2002 - Under my pseudonym Christine Nelson - and I won the women's bracket, yeah baby! 2002 Wharf to Wharf - 7/28/2002 - Sure...I invite people...they get their pictures...none for me. 2002 Palo Alto JCC Tri #3 - 8/18/2002 - This time I'm Arnim Wolter...Weber and Craig still kicked my ass though... 2002 Big Kahuna Triathlon - 9/8/02 Pre-Race - The camera catches Satan taking control of Ellen as she begins the shaving process Swim - The group huddles together for warmth before the swim Bike - Generic bike photo #1 Bike - Generic bike photo #2 Run - What am I thinking? 6.5 miles down...6.5 to go... Run - Thank you for running the past 13 miles...now you get to do the last part on loose sand Run - I paid them extra to use the thinning lens for this shot Run - Ah...they got my good side on this one Team Photo - Maeve even gave birth during the run Post-Race - First one in is the Big Kahuna, last one in...well, Maeve is now the "Big Pineapple" Post-Race - Even with me in it, it's still a good shot 2002 Pacific Grove Triathlon 9/14/02 Swim - The "damn, I'm slow" look...quickly followed by shaking wrist and holding watch to ear Swim - You cannot imagine how pleased I was to be out of the water Bike - Come Arthur, evil is afoot! Bike - Little do they know I can't see a thing through my fogged-up glasses Bike - I get this stunned look whenever a race announcer pronounces my name correctly. Run - "Why are you smiling?" "Because I know something you do not know..." Run - Must be lap two...the grin is gone... Run - Wow...the first running picture where I don't look like a complete dork (note strategic use of the word complete) Run - Look at their nice placement of the flag in the turnaround shot - they must have gone to photo school Run - This is where I turn into the hulk...damn, they just missed the transformation Run - A tri where I'm still running at the end...what has the world come to? 2002 Palo Alto Moonlight Run - 9/20/2002 Pre-Race - The gang's all (well, mostly all) here Pre-Race - Not sure what's going on here...
